This was a project to design the new discussion app for The Student Room.

 

OVERVIEW

 

The Student Room had an app that existed on the Tapatalk platform which has become out of date and no longer supported development. Working with an external agency who created some wireframes and low res designs for some of the key areas, I then turned in to high fidelity designs and created further screens for the missing pages and functionality.

There are many different aspects to the app and redesigning a forum site had its challenges. It needed to be engaging and visual, standing out from the website, the previous basic version and other forum apps. Blue is the primary brand colour and shades and gradients of this were used throughout the app. Transitions between screens and animations of icons and functionality was added to create an engaing experience.
